Preparation: sketching

As said earlier, it's good practice to make some sketches of the model you want to sculpt.



It is very important that you can visualize the front and the back of your model. If possible, try to preview your model from all angles, because you'll have to make it in 3D, of course.


Also, make some sketches of important parts of your model, and of some details.
Details add flavor to your models and make them more sophisticated.

On the left are some examples of details for Zygo. I saw those in an Dungeons & Dragons art book, in pictures from Keith Parkinson and Larry Elmore.
