For a friend's birthday, Peter, I created his favourite character from a comic:
Gaston, or Guust Flater in Dutch.
Gaston's mostly a clumsy and lazy office boy working at the
editorial office of a weekly comic magazine, but sometimes inventor
of the stangest apparatus.
He's the creation of the Belgian artist André Franquin.
I made it after the comic book pictures I found, and, like
it was again hard to create a 3D model of a 2D comic character.
But I think it worked out pretty good.
The armature was done with iron wire, and for the first time I used
clay that stays flexible after baking. That way, you can bend Gaston into
different positions, sitting, walking, standing, or, as above, relaxing.
