Materials: introduction

Don't rush to the shop yet! Let me explain some things first.

To follow my clay course you need to have some materials in the following three ranges: I'll explain about those three in detail in the next few pages. The good news is: you don't have to buy a lot of expensive things to work with clay. You don't even need an oven if you're using air-dried clay or epoxy.

Q: Do I have to buy a kiln?
A: No. Polymer clay is cured by heating it in a regular oven. Depending on the type of polymer and the thickness of the model it cures at about 130 degrees Celcius (265 F).

If you've already got some materials, you can skip this part and jump directly to the chapter on preparation
